Adegga Winemarket returns to Porto on May 11th and this year's edition brings together 120 wines, among the 400 in the tasting, with scores equal to or greater than 90 points in various national and international reference publications.
A smart glass, Vintages and Champagne. What else?
This year, the Alfândega do Porto is the chosen location for the event, which focuses on quality in a relaxed atmosphere, from 2pm to 9pm. The SmartWineGlass – the “smart” glass that records all tastings – once again serves as a passport for a journey through the best Portuguese wines. Designed by Adegga in 2012, the SmartWineGlass technology is a world innovation in the field and ensures that each visitor receives a complete list of wines tasted during the event via email, as well as direct access to the online store.
But there's more: in the year in which the main Port Wine Houses declare their Vintage, Bento Amaral leads an exclusive masterclass with a selection of 2017 Vintage. The person in charge of the IVDP Tasting Chamber addresses the consecutive declarations of an exceptional wine category and reveals the main characteristics of each wine being tasted.
Also invited by Adegga, Alejandro Chávarro will be giving a masterclass on Champagne wines and the region’s approach to organic and biodynamic viticulture. The sommelier, who recently arrived in Portugal to launch the Vinhos Livres project, has already worked at some of the world’s best restaurants, including Mugaritz, Lucas Carton, Quique Dacosta, Hotel du cap Eden Roc and the famous Astrance, which currently holds 3 Michelin stars.
