The different altitudes and diversity of soils create a diversity of terroirs
VINEYARDS AND GRAPE VARIETIES
The vineyards that make up Lavradores de Feitoria are spread throughout the Douro Wine Region, whether in Baixo e Cima Corgo or in Douro Superior. The fact that the grapes come from 20 estates contributes to the complexity and character of Lavradores de Feitoria wines.
The versatility and multiplicity of native grape varieties and exposures, the vines with such distinct ages, the different altitudes and the diversity of soils give rise to a diversity of terroirs that greatly “feeds” the peculiarity of these Douro wines.
Among the vines, some of which are over 80 years old, the following red varieties can be found: Alvarelhão, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Touriga Franca or Touriga Francesa and Touriga Nacional; and white varieties: Boal, Códega, Gouveio, Malvasia, Sauvignon Blanc and Viosinho.
