Nova dupla de Três Bagos brancos da colheita de 2017

New pair of white Três Bagos from the 2017 harvest

We are announcing the arrival of the new harvest – 2017 – of our most eagerly awaited pairing, to be enjoyed peacefully in the summer. We are talking about the 'Três Bagos white' and the 'Três Bagos Sauvignon Blanc'. The first is a blended wine made with native grape varieties; the second is made from an international grape variety. Differences aside, both reflect the freshness of a Douro region worked with the remarkable dedication of this wine company.

Três Bagos white 2017 • DOC Douro

RRP: €6.50 • Alcohol: 13.0% • Total Acidity: 5.10 g//l • pH: 3.31

Viosinho, Gouveio and Rabigato are the typical Douro grape varieties used in the 'Três Bagos white 2017'. Each was harvested from vines aged between 25 and 30 years old, belonging to various producers at Lavradores de Feitoria. In the winery, 80% fermented in stainless steel vats and 20% in new French oak barrels. The blend remained in this state during the 5 to 6 month aging process. With a bright straw yellow colour, this is a fine and elegant white. On the nose, it is very fruity and fresh, with aromas of pear and white plum, standing out in a combination that reveals notes of pineapple and citrus. On the palate, it is intense, full of notes of fresh white fruit, light vanilla and minerality. It is complex, very tasty and has a balanced acidity, with a long finish. Perfect to serve now, or in the coming years.

Três Bagos Sauvignon Blanc white 2017 • Douro Regional Wine

RRP: €9.50 • Alcohol: 13.0% • Total Acidity: 5.96 g//l • pH: 3.30

In the same range, 'Três Bagos', Lavradores de Feitoria has a renowned Sauvignon Blanc in estreme, with grapes from vines planted 25, 30 years ago, on the property of the century-old Casa de Mateus, located in the Cima Corgo sub-region, in the Douro. Fermented and aged – for four to five months – partly in stainless steel (80%) and partly in French oak barrels (20%), this is a white with a bright, citrus colour, similar to that of lemon. On the palate, it is fresh and quite aromatic. It reveals vegetal notes, such as asparagus, a specific property of this variety, as well as aromas of ripe tropical fruit, such as pineapple and passion fruit. It is very tasty and balanced. It denotes good acidity. The fruit is very present through notes of pineapple and lychee, in addition to nuances of fresher fruit, such as pear, which gives it a very pleasant finish. The fresh aromas intrinsic to the variety, combined with the time spent aging in wood, have resulted in a wine with a good structure, ensuring good potential for evolution in the bottle or for toasting this summer.
