After the 2017 white wine – presented in May – it is now time to launch the counterpart wine, but in the rosé version. From North to South of the country and on the islands, it is now possible to order a 'Lavradores de Feitoria rosé 2017', a wine whose salmon-colored lychee color awakens our senses for Summer, which refuses to arrive in full...
Like the last two vintages created by the LF winemaking team, led by engineer Paulo Ruão, the 'Lavradores de Feitoria rosé 2017' is the result of a marriage between Touriga Franca, a native grape variety that will continue to be talked about in the Douro, dominating 70% of the blend, and a blend of other grape varieties. A reference that debuted at the company with the 2012 vintage – at the time an extreme Touriga Nacional rosé – and which has been adapting to the consumer profile.
The grapes, harvested from vines between 25 and 30 years old and planted in schist soils, were fermented and aged in stainless steel. Under strict supervision, this entire process resulted in a wine with a very fine and elegant aroma. It is a very floral rosé, but with an equal presence of fresh fruit, such as grapefruit, with hints of strawberry, which makes it pleasant on the nose. On the palate, the entry is fresh and balanced, with flavours of red fruits, such as strawberry and some cherry, as well as hints of citrus. It is a light and fresh wine, very pleasant to drink as an aperitif, but also to serve with equally light meals, such as salads, cold soups, lean fish, seafood, white meat (chicken and turkey) or pasta with white sauce.
