‘Três Bagos’ brancos: “Douro de gema” e “blockbuster” de 2018 chegam ao mercado

'Três Bagos' white: “Douro de gema” and “blockbuster” of 2018 arrive on the market

After launching the 2018 'Lavradores de Feitoria' white and rosé, we are debuting this same harvest, but now in the pair of whites from our flagship brand: Três Bagos. Thus, the 'Três Bagos' arrives on the national market, from North to South and Islands. Bagos Reserva white 2018' and 'Três Bagos Sauvignon Blanc 2018'. If we were talking about people, we would say that we are dealing with a native Douro native and an outsider perfectly adapted to the terroir of the region, respectively. Both are bon vivants and, therefore, also available in half-liter bottles, ideal for sharing moments with friends and family. The season calls for it.

Três Bagos Reserve white 2018

DOC Douro •PVP: €7.40 • Alc.: 13.0% • Total Acidity: 5.50 g//l • pH: 3.46

Being a “Douro gem”, the 'Três Bagos white' is a blended wine, made from the region's most typical white grape varieties, Viosinho, Gouveio and Rabigato. After some time aging in French oak barrels, around 20% for five to six months, the winemaking team at Lavradores de Feitoria, led by Paulo Ruão, designed a wine with fruity aromas, but with freshness and structure that guarantee it good potential for evolution. A white that, in the 2018 harvest, is bright citrus yellow in color and, on the nose, exudes aromas of fresh fruit, with the presence of pear and melon balanced with notes of citrus. On the palate, the entry is fresh, full of fruit and minerality. A complex, tasty white with balanced acidity. It has a long and very fine finish. It was released in 2004 and, since then, has always had the green light. In this most recent harvest, 2018, it now has the designation 'Reserva' on the label.

Três Bagos Sauvignon Blanc white 2018

Douro Regional Wine • RRP: €9.70 • Alcohol: 13.0% • Total Acidity: 5.60 g//l • pH: 3.43

Although of foreign origin, Sauvignon Blanc, the grape variety that gives life to the Três Bagos single-variety, is perfectly adapted to the Douro terroir, and both are on a first-name basis. A grape variety chosen for its fresh and elegant wines, which is the profile we chose. The vinification, first, and the aging for four to five months, then occur in a ratio of 80 to 20% in stainless steel and new French oak barrels, respectively. The bright lemon hue prevails in the 'Três Bagos Sauvignon Blanc 2018', a very aromatic white, with a clear presence of very ripe tropical fruit, contrasting with fresher fruit, such as pineapple and melon, and with vegetal notes reminiscent of asparagus. With a fresh entrance, it reveals itself to be very fruity and balanced in the mouth. It has good acidity, supported by flavors of ripe fruit, and tropical notes that give it balance. The finish is long and persistent. A “blockbuster” in our portfolio.
