‘Três Bagos Grande Escolha tinto 2015’: nova colheita de vinho D’ouro chega ao mercado

'Três Bagos Grande Escolha red 2015': new harvest of D'ouro wine hits the market

We present the new harvest of our top-of-the-range wine, a wine produced only in exceptional years. We are talking about the 'Três Bagos Grande Escolha red 2015', which arrives on the market with an added responsibility, namely 19 points awarded by wine critic João Paulo Martins, in the current edition of the magazine 'Grandes Escolhas'.

Made from a blend of carefully selected native grape varieties from old vines – in this case, over 60 years old – this wine is a testament to the valuable tradition of blended winemaking. After the grapes have been harvested and carefully selected, fermentation takes place in a traditional wine press and in oak vats with prolonged maceration. The wine is then aged for 14 months in the best new, most balanced French oak barrels, resulting in a sublime blend with the capacity to mature.

According to João Paulo Martins, the 'Três Bagos Grande Escolha red 2015' “originates from old vineyards. It shows tremendous aromatic complexity, where minerality is felt, where the fruit is ripe, with black berries and some balsamic notes, always with distinct elegance. The environment in the mouth is of enormous harmony and depth. A remarkable combination, of absolute polish, full of flavor.” The balanced combination of power and elegance contributes to the potential for aging in the bottle of this wine with a bright, deep and vivid red color.

It is worth remembering that the 'Três Bagos' brand represents the essence of Lavradores de Feitoria, as it has become the unifying brand for several small producers, owners of farms spread across the three sub-regions of the Douro – Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior. In other words, it reflects the union of fifteen 'farmers from Feitoria', a name that, in 2000, gave shape to this company that, in this way, strongly respects the tradition of blended wines, a unique heritage of the Douro that it wants to see preserved.
